Frequently Asked (Wedding) Questions

Do you have to be a member to have a wedding here?

No, we do not require you to be a member, however we do highly encourage sponsored events.

What is a sponsored event?

Members can arrange for friends, family, or other organizations to host events. In this case, members will assume all financial and material responsibility. All charges from the event will be billed to their member account. Once an event is sponsored, the sponsored party may work directly with the event coordinator, without the involvement of the member sponsor.

How do I set up a tour?

We ask that you either call 616-361-2661 and ask for Jaclyn or email her at jdipiazza@blythefieldcc.org.

Do you charge a room rental fee?

We do not have a room rental fee. It is only required to reach a food and beverage minimum before tax and gratuity.

What counts toward the minimum for an event?

All food and beverage purchased from Blythefield Country Club will go toward the minimum. Linked below is the Wedding and Special Event Guide with pricing.

 Will Blythefield cater my event?

Yes, all food and beverage must come from the facility, with the exception of the wedding cake and dessert, which can come from a licensed baker. At Blythefield Country Club we pride ourselves in fresh, locally sourced food and ingredients. Our Executive Chef, Jeff Hiler, partners with local farms to grow fresh herbs and heirloom produce not only at the farm, but on the club grounds as well. Chef Jeff also hand-cuts and dry ages all steaks making sure all food is cooked to order.

Can I have my ceremony here?

Yes, say ‘I do’ at our picturesque outdoor ceremony location, just steps away from our beautiful indoor or outdoor reception spaces.

What is max capacity?

For our indoor receptions we ask that there are no more than 200 guests. However, for the outdoor reception the capacity is unlimited, which is ideal for larger receptions.

What is needed for outdoor receptions?

As the host you are responsible for renting a tent (if desired), lighting, and generator. Don’t worry about the rest, we’ll take care of it!

What happens if it rains?

We will be happy to accommodate your outdoor ceremony or reception inside of our ballroom. If you’re curious what that looks like click here to check out an indoor ceremony that we have hosted in the past. We make sure to never double book for this reason alone.

Is there a place for my bridesmaids and I to get ready?

We have a bridal suite that is available to the bride and bridesmaids beginning at 10am the day of event.

Can I have a live band?

Absolutely!

Is there parking on-site?

Yes, we have lots of parking available for the wedding and reception guests!

Are there accommodations nearby?

We are located less than 5 miles away from the closest hotel just north of Grand Rapids.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept both cash and check.Please make checks payable to Blythefield Country Club.
